YangShan moved to Philly from Michigan where she earned her MA after growing up in Taiwan. She identifies as an experimental designer who enjoys exploring new creation methods, and reveling in the design process. Through her current focus on Augmented Reality (AR,) and Virtual Reality (VR,) projects, she aims to help expand the boundaries that currently define the graphic design profession. YangShan's work has a deep focus on the human experience. With AR and VR applied to it, people can explore a unique world they might have never before conceived.

She is a socially motivated brand storyteller who enjoys approaching her designs through a methodological framework. She is an adaptive multidisciplinary design thinker who is as comfortable strategizing as she is designing. Kristin's work focuses on Interactive and Social Impact Design while building on her backgrounds in Branding and Advertising. During her time at Tyler, she also applied this knowledge to collaborative projects in Design Education in addition to her position as a Teaching Assistant. Kristin's ultimate goal is to lead innovative, human-centered brands with potential to nurture social change.
